The 2025 season is officially underway, and what a start it’s been! With two incredible events in the books, we are already off to one exciting season!

Welcome Back Mixer – Friday, April 28

There’s no better way to kick off a new season than with great people, great food, and a stunning Lake Tahoe sunset. Nearly 50 members came together for our first event of the season, graciously hosted by Kevin & Catherine Kornegay at their beautiful home in the Tahoe Keys. The setting was idyllic: sunshine, clear skies, and a view that reminded us why we love Tahoe. Of course, in true Tahoe fashion, we woke up the next morning to six inches of fresh snow!

A very special thanks goes to Ross Groelz for preparing his signature homemade clam chowder! The chowder feed was served in fresh sourdough bread bowls; a delicious meal that warmed both hearts and stomachs.

We also held our first successful General Membership Meeting of the year where we welcomed 4 new members to the club. The energy and excitement for the upcoming season were on full display!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to launch the 2025 season in such a meaningful way. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next big social gathering: Waves & Woodstock on June 14 at the Camp Richardson Boathouse!

Pre-Season Membership Drive – Wednesday, April 30

Just a few days later, we shifted gears and took the club into the community with a Membership Drive event at South Lake Brewing Company. Our setup included a welcoming table with free swag, snacks, and info materials, plus a video reel showcasing last year’s most exciting moments.

The response? Incredible! We had an estimated 40 people stop by, curious to learn more about what SLTWYC is all about. The event sparked great conversations, genuine connections, and a wave of positive energy. Many attendees mentioned they were looking for a deeper sense of community in South Lake Tahoe—and SLTWYC might just be the perfect fit!

We’re thrilled to share that six new members have recently joined as a direct result of this successful event! A huge thank you to the members who were able to stop by, help recruit, and expand our presence within the community.

Save the date! We’re planning another recruitment event on Wednesday, June 25 at Steamers Bar & Grill, right after Opening Day on the Lake festivities. Spread the word and stay tuned for more details!

These two events have set a vibrant tone for what promises to be an unforgettable season. Whether you’re here for the sailing, the socializing, or simply the sunsets—we’re glad you’re part of it. Here’s to the adventures ahead!
