SLTWYC - South Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club

To the General Membership,

Summer is in full swing and we have generated a lot of interest in joining our club. We have inducted twelve new members thus far. There have been two very successful social events held at the local Moose Lodge, with lots of positive feedback about the venue location and interest in becoming Moose! So far, nine of our members have officially become Moose. There are two more social events scheduled, on August 4 and September 8 (both Thursdays). The flyer for our August 4 event has been emailed. Please RSVP if you haven't already to Vice Commodore Linda Gordon at 510.813.7815 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Thank you.

To the General Membership,

We held our first social event of the season on July 15th and it was a great success! Thank you again to John and Carra for providing the venue. Because we had excellent attendance and lots of positive feedback, we have our Second Social Event of the Season scheduled for this Thursday, August 5th! You should have received an invite last week with all the details. If you didn't, please contact Vice Commodore Linda Gordon at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 510.813.7815. Please RSVP if you have not done so already, and please indicate what type of potluck dish you will be bringing. Thank you.

To the General Membership,

Your board has continued to monitor the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and how we are moving forward. Our club remains on hiatus for the 2020 season. However, we are still the South Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club and plan to resume our activities as soon as it is safe to do so.

Local boaters to be first allowed on Lake Tahoe

We have been very busy planning a fun filled year of social activities for the SLTWYC.

I have attached a Tentative Schedule for you to see.
You will note some "?" next to some items especially Beer Can Happy Hours.  We had hoped to do these every Wednesday from Mid-June through early September.  However unless more of you will volunteer to help with these events we may have to drop back to every other Wednesday night.
Remember a club is only as good as its members and we need a little help from all of you to make our club a success.

Happy New Year
from the incoming Executive Board
of the South Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club!

As we enter our second year as the South Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club, we can be proud of our accomplishments. During our first year, we brought in 25 new members for a total membership of 145. Many of these new members were introduced to our club by current members. Our racing season was very successful and our social events showed great attendance. Our events generated enough profit to put us in the black, so thanks to all of you for your participation.
