From a chance meeting that led to a year-long honeymoon in Hawaii to solo sailing trips and bringing Habitat for Humanity to Tahoe, Mort and Carolyn have truly made their mark. Carra and John Johnck have been deeply involved in the South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club for decades, contributing through leadership and event planning. With a shared love of boating, skiing, and travel, they’ve built lasting connections within the club. Now with more time for new adventures, they remain enthusiastic about its future.

Tad Woodward passed away November 9, 2024 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife Pat, two adult children, and four grandchildren.
Kevin Kornegay of SLTWYC received PICYA’s Meritorious Service Award for his swift response to a boat in distress on Lake Tahoe. While aboard the Phoenix, a repurposed fireboat, he radioed for emergency aid, prompting a multi-agency rescue that saved the vessel and its passengers. His quick actions and use of Channel 16 proved vital in the successful operation. Congratulations, Kevin!
