Lynn Woodward

Our featured member, Lynn Woodward, is an incredibly accomplished sailor, breaking into competitive sailing during an era when women were not widely welcomed in the sport. A member of SLTWYC for 25 years, Lynn served on the board for 13 years.

Dale & Sue Herman

This month’s Member Spotlight features Dale and Sue Herman, who were integral to the joining of our two clubs. Shari Young sat down with the longtime members for a lively conversation and trip down Yacht Club Memory Lane.

David & Shari Young

This month, the South Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club turns its Spotlight on members David and Shari Young. David is currently serving the club as Staff Commodore, and his “amazing wife” Shari is our Secretary.

Jennifer Frasier

Jen grew up in Miami, Florida, where her family had a sailboat on the Florida Keys. The moment she laid eyes on Tahoe, at the curve of Echo Summit, she knew she was meant to be here. “I honestly feel like I landed.”

Sam Corso

The SLTWYC Member Spotlight this month is our very own Rear Commodore – Samuel Robert Corso. You know… the one who writes the emails that make you chuckle and who does a fabulous job organizing our races.

RICHARD PANUSCHKA

Richard has been racing sailboats with his dad since he was about eight years old. Richard recently completed USCG certification and is now a licensed 50-Ton Captain.

Steve Katzman

Steve has been a lifelong “water/snow person,” swimming, surfing/sailing in the warm Southern California waters, or working in the ski industry most of his life. Both the mountains and lake were a perfect match for Steve and his move to South Lake Tahoe in 1981.

Russ & Debbie Noorda

You may know Russ and Debbie as the couple that spends their winters in Mexico on Intrepid, a Hylas 44, cruising the Sea of Cortez, or maybe you know Russ as the owner of Tahoe Sail and Rigging. Either way they are sailors at heart, and here is their story.

Linda Gordon

Linda Gordon – Vice Commodore is our first SLTWYC Member Spotlight. Who is this fabulous woman who has and continues to do so much for our Yacht Club?
